The *.SF2 file included in this archive is designed for use with the following SoundFont-compatible sound hardware:

 <> Sound Blaster 32, AWE32 or AWE64 (must have sufficient sample RAM onboard)
 <> Sound Blaster Live!
 <> Sound Blaster Audigy
 <> E-MU APS

Any SoundFont-compatible hardware or software not listed here is unsupported by GeneralUser GS, and is not guaranteed to work or sound correctly.

For help installing the SoundFont as your General MIDI bank, please refer to your sound card's documentation, or visit my online tutorial at http://www.sccmusic.250x.com/sfont/genuser/tutor.htm

Also, make sure you download the Environmental Audio preset for use with the Live! and Audigy sound cards (from my website).  This will ensure the best compatibility between GeneralUser GS and Roland GS Reverb/Chorus specifications when playing MIDI files.  The EAX preset has only been tested on Windows 98, and may not be compatible with other operating systems.

<> Combined AWE32/64 and Live! versions into one bank compatible with both sound cards.

<> Fixed Hi-hat cutoff bug that showed up courtesy of the Creative Labs driver.

<> Reworked the string ensemble using same samples.  Sounds more full now and is in stereo.
<> Adjusted balance/envelopes of some woodwinds.
<> Made orchestral snare velocity sensitive.
<> Other small tweaks here and there.

<> Fixed some synth sounds that weren't right because the Live! driver screwed up the filter settings.
